Adhan Companion Pro — Privacy Policy

Summary. Adhan Companion Pro is private by design. It requires no account, contains no analytics, no advertising and no trackers, and makes no network requests during normal operation.

What we collect

Nothing. No data is transmitted to us or to any third party.

What stays on your device

All of the following is computed and stored locally (Chrome extension storage and IndexedDB) and never leaves your machine:

Your configured location (city or coordinates) and timezone
Prayer-time calculation preferences
Prayer tracking history, streaks and tasbih counts
Quran reading position and bookmarks
Appearance, language and notification preferences

Location

Location is set manually by searching a bundled offline city index, or — only if you click “Detect my location” — via the browser's geolocation API. The resulting coordinates are stored locally and are never transmitted. No IP-based geolocation service is used.

The one outbound link

The optional “Find mosques nearby” button opens openstreetmap.org in a new browser tab, which necessarily shares your approximate map position with OpenStreetMap. This happens only when you click that button; the extension itself never contacts any server.

Backups

The export feature writes your data to a file you choose. Optionally, backups are encrypted with AES-256-GCM using a passphrase only you know. Restoring is equally local.

`alarms`	Wake the extension at prayer times (no background polling)
`notifications`	Show prayer and reminder notifications
`offscreen`	Play the adhan (Chrome service workers cannot play audio)
`geolocation`	One-shot location detection, only when you request it
